The on-site restaurant offered delicious cuisine, with a great selection of local wines, including the renowned Lugana.One standout feature was the breakfast, which was simply perfect, setting a positive tone for the day. The staff were friendly and attentive, contributing to a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the hotel. The location, though a few kilometers from Sirmione, offered a peaceful respite away from the bustling crowds, making it an ideal choice for those seeking tranquility.In terms of value, Dogana certainly delivers. With amenities such as a swimming pool, private parking, and the option to rent a bike for exploring the surroundings, guests can enjoy a fulfilling stay without breaking the bank. I particularly appreciated the absence of hidden fees or the pressure to engage in costly add-ons, which can often detract from the overall experience in other establishments.While there were minor issues with housekeeping and some noise disturbances, the overall value proposition of Dogana shines through. For those looking to immerse themselves in Italian hospitality without compromising on quality, this hotel offers a compelling choice that balances luxury with affordability. As an Italian who values the intertwining of history and modern comforts, I found Dogana to be a refreshing escape from the commercialized settings that can often detract from the true essence of Italian culture.
